Mauritius - disappointment?

Everyone has some anticipations when it comes to visiting particular places, especially if they are known to be 'paradise on earth' for wide range of people. You don't need to or can try to avoid having them, but they always crawl out somehow. This time was not an exception. Almost there, London by the Indian Ocean ;) MAURITIUS -> west part of the Indian Ocean, Republic of Mauritius officially. Along with Rodriguez and Reunion, they form part of the Mascarene Islands. 51.9% Hinduism. Languages spoken: Mauritian Creole, Bhojpuri dialect of Hindustani, French and English. I would say - English little, French - much more. Very Indian, the only difference is - the island ;) So when approaching this island, miraculous to most of people, we felt like it was to be something 'big' for us too. Promptly the reality cleared all the expectations though. It might have been due to us being already a bit spoiled with unforgettable placed we visited...

Rodriguez Island

Hi peeps, here we are, back again! After 'long time no see' I eventually decided to ultimately update our unfinished blog and the traveling recap. At least since we have finished our journey for the time-being.. :) So the last, but not least, places we visited along the Indian Ocean crossing were for that instance Rodrigues Island . The furthest island to the East of the West Indian Ocean, practically - the one you get first to after leaving Cocos Keeling and getting across the whole Ocean. It was a beautiful leg, whole 13 days out in the ocean, without setting foot on the land! dolphins' farewell from Cocos Keeling, aww! ^^ trying out sextant.. ...with no further success.. ;) food for thought and staff morale J.'s first bread - quaint, but how tasty indeed! me sewing our courtesy flag before approaching the land, DIY at full throttle ;) yohoo, our destination approached! Nonetheless, no-one was truly happy, in fact. Reachin...

CHRISTMAS ISLAND Flying Fish Cove The passage from Bali to Christmas Island as very nice and pretty quick – we got there in 4 nights. I had a slight seasickness, but nothing like throwing up just tiredness and general dizziness. We anchored in Flying Fish Cove, the only place we could actually. There was a huge mining place just next by, phosphorus is what they extract. Although our boat was facing different direction, to the beautiful cliffs with astonishing, decidious forest and plenty of birds hovering around. One day there was Fabi's bday, therefore we rented a 4x4 pick-up and ventured out across the island. We visited some lovely beaches, had a amusing and s pellbound stroll along the cliffy coast, had some lunch on the Dolly Beach, where we had to shoo robber-crabs away constantly, cause they where approaching us bringing a lot of trouble to us trying to hide the food on their way or kept displacing those poor (but so huge!) creatures. To my distress and mis...
