JAVA island p.I

Bandung Hello Indonesia! So it happened, we landed in Jakarta, getting there from Singapore. Unexpectedly, I may say, cause we made the decision of going to Indonesia finally just because some extraordinary circumstances that emerged on the horizon. What circumstances am I talking about? Our plan was to attempt to travel  on a bike, backpacking and hitching a boat... to volunteer in eco-projects, workaways and for traveling experience itself. Primarily. How it was going to happen we didn't have figured out back then , but that was what we were looking for before even going anywhere. So, we've got biking and backpacking, taking part in different projects and more than we could have even think of, checked-off the list. Then came the time we got homesick a bit, thinking of maybe starting working our way back home soonish, when... we got this reply from CREWBAY... Every now and then we were looking the offers up, mailing people, giving a try. And eventually the ...

ONE DAY in SINGAPORE!

All quite hectic, but still enjoyable :) Firstly, w e arrived later than we thought, started with taking a morning, 3,5 h bus from Melaka to S., but didn't realize the whole “on the border” procedure would take that lo ng (and 'd deprive u s our pepper spray we were carrying since India times, heh..).  Thus we arrived in at about 1 pm and jumped on a bus to the Orchid Road right away (something like Oxford St in London, I guess) – which we got paid by some very nice and equally stubborn, Muslim lady (2 and 10 dollars banknotes didn't allow us to buy tickets, and she kindly and voluntarily offered paying it for us, hehe). In Little India again, we had a hug e Thali   th at filled us up for the whole day, almost, and still had to take some leftovers away with us;) After stressful chasing after some open bank (to exchange our travel checks in) and unfortunately failing, we withdrew some Singapore dollars and exchanged them to 70 USD we needed for on-arrival visa in Indone...

We got there very late, close to midnight, but luckily, after sharing a taxi to the old town with a French couple;), we found a nice guest house – still open and happy to have us there. The first night was tough though, cause it was hellishly hot, even though we took beds beside windows (thinking: “the best ones!” - in the dormitory for the first time in our 7 months trip (yeah, it's been that long now! :D ). No air movement whatsoever and fans not reaching that far (probably set, by default, to mix remaining, indoor air over heads which can't have it from the widely open windows - *bullshit*), not to mention mosq uito e s c ommonly  pissing us off. Anyways, we got through it and the following morning moved pr...
